Darren Revell Founder
Darren's technology career began when he became the primary investor, Sales Director and Chief Architect of the Evalica software house.
The software house produced a range of technologies, including the content management system (CMS) eGrasp. eGrasp quickly became a leading industry CMS sold by Evalica in 9 countries supporting multiple job board applications and recruitment websites. Other technologies created by Darren during his Evalica days were job scraping, job/CV spidering tools, bespoke ATS Systems, bespoke Recruitment Management Systems, Job Posting/Broadcasting Systems and online testing tools.
Having invested 95% of all the money required to create Evalica, Darren produced 75%-95% of all the companies global sales over a 5-year period which continued to fund Evalica. The Evalica partnership was disbanded in 2007 when Darren passed all international clients to his former partner who rebranded from Evalica to Aspen Technologies & JobMount, whilst Darren founded Recruitwise Technology with the UK client base.
Uniquely, having entered into the recruitment market in 2000, Darren is the only supplier of technologies to have created 3 successful businesses from scratch, with his own funds, in the Job Board/Recruitment Website/Career Site/Recruitment SEO space in the last 10 years. His advice has been sought by over 4000 recruitment firms in the past 10 years, along with online giants like Monster, Jobsite, Total Jobs, the Telegraph, etc.
Darren's research work in Recruitment SEO since 2006 has set benchmarks for others to follow and Darren has personally reviewed 2,500 websites, their features and SEO strategies, with his team reviewing a further 1,500. He continues to review that core 4,000 each year, with about 30 new sites being added a month. In terms of job boards, Darren has reviewed over 1,500 and the employer career sites are getting on for about 500 now, with roughly 100 new sites being reviewed per month. Darren presently writes a monthly article for Recruitment International on Recruitment SEO, online recruitment and how to gain advantages as recruiters whilst countering the erosion of their markets by internal recruiters and direct hiring strategies.
Starting in recruitment in 1990, Darren has many years' experience in the industry. Always setting records, Darren was recognised by Mike O'Flynn and James Caan as a major asset to their Alexander Mann consulting business in just his first year in recruitment. Becoming the 2nd largest biller in 9 months had to help! During Darren's career he has sold contingency permanent recruitment, campaign advertising, retained search, contractor/interims, project teams, vendor management solutions, RPO and now e-Recruitment services.
